Hand embroidery and various threads on Irish linen | One-off work |

Próca (Irish for 'jar') conveys the idea of a small, contained world and the quiet processes of growth held within it.

A jar can become its own environment, a place where plants are nurtured, observed, and allowed to develop in a contained space. There is something both practical and symbolic in this, a way of holding and caring for life in miniature, creating the conditions for growth.

This work draws on the act of propagation, where plants are divided so that new life can emerge from what already exists. It is a process that requires patience and a willingness to separate in order to multiply, to take something whole and gently break it apart so that it can continue to grow in new directions.

The work combines ink and hand embroidery on Irish linen, using a mixture of silk and various other threads. Some are naturally dyed, while others are vintage threads sourced from charity shops, bringing together materials with their own histories.

This is a unique work. There are no reproductions, no editions, made by hand.
