Anáil, 2026

£165.00 / Sold Out

Hand embroidery and various threads on Irish linen | One-off work |

Anáil (Irish for breath) reflects the simple act of breathing in the early signs of spring.

After a long winter, the first warmer and brighter days arrive almost unexpectedly. In the garden, small changes begin to appear: new shoots pushing through the soil, subtle greens returning to the beds, and the particular fresh scent that comes with the earth warming again. One of the quiet pleasures of this time of year is stepping outside and breathing it all in.

Spring is also a busy moment in the gardener’s calendar. Seeds should already be sown, beds prepared, and plans made for the months ahead. Like many gardeners, I often feel slightly behind at this point in the season. Anáil is a small reminder to pause within that busyness and take in the freshness and possibility that spring brings.

The embroidery is worked using a mixture of wool and various other threads. Some are naturally dyed, while others are vintage threads sourced from charity shops, bringing together materials with their own histories.

This is a unique work. There are no reproductions, no editions, made by hand.
Made in Ireland.

Anáil will arrive unframed on a mounting board, ready for framing.

It will be posted within three working days.
