Hand embroidery and various threads on Irish linen | One-off work | 18.5 cm by 24 cm
Bláthanna Fiáine (Irish for Wildflowers) is inspired by three favourite plants: thyme and heather from my own garden, and campion growing along the coast. As I spend more time gardening and learning about plants, I find myself looking more closely at their delicate structures, colours and textures.
The work combines ink and hand embroidery on Irish linen, using a mixture of silk and various other threads. Some are naturally dyed, while others are vintage threads sourced from charity shops, bringing together materials with their own histories.
This is a unique work. There are no reproductions, no editions, made by hand.
Made in Ireland.
Bláthanna Fiáine will arrive unframed on a mounting board, ready for framing.
It will be posted within three working days.
